Oslo, Norway – Under the auspices of VARP and due to the importance of developing partnerships with other stakeholders providing different services to migrants in Norway, IOM is organising a round of seminars for a multitude of partners in Norway, predominantly in Bergen, Trondheim and Tromsø
This seminar seeks to bring together different state agencies, community associations, migrant organizations, non governmental organizations, the media and other kind of organizations active in the field of migration issues in order to discuss voluntary return and provide the opportunity for group dialogue and exchange and identify ways to improve the outreach activities of the programme.
Seminar Objectives
The overall objective of the Seminar is to facilitate information awareness about IOM and its programmes and establish links with other stakeholders in the cities of Bergen and Trondheim.
The seminars intend to:
- Create a forum for the presentation and discussion about migration issues related to the voluntary return.
- Provide concerned organizations with accurate and updated information on IOM Norway and its projects.
- Present in detail the VARP and reintegration programmes attached to VARP.

- IOM in Norway. (15 min)
- Voluntary Assisted Return Programme – How it works and what is expected. (25 min)
- Reintegration Support and monitoring (20 min)
- Coffee Break
- Information and Outreach: opportunities and challenges (20 min)
- Final Comments and Questions (40 min)
The seminars will be held on:
Thursday, 19 of April 2012, 17:30 – 20:00; at the Scandic Bergen City Hotel, Håkonsgaten 2, Bergen.
Thursday, 26 of April 2012, 08:00 – 10:00 a.m. ; at “kanalrommet” at ISAK, Trondheim
