What we do
Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR)
We can assist you with voluntary return to your home country. Asylum seekers and migrants without a legal right to stay in Norway who wish to return from Norway to their home countries, can apply for the Voluntary Assisted Return Programme (VARP). The Programme aims to provide a return option which is organized, safe and dignified.
Migrant Training and Integration
We offer pre-departure cultural orientation courses for Norway-bound quota refugees and seminars to municipal staff. The course is offered in the first country of asylum after the refugees have fled their native countries, while the seminar is offered in resettling municipalities. The intended outcome is smoother integration of refugees resettled in Norway.
Vulnerable Migrants
IOM provides a comprehensive return option to meet the needs of vulnerable migrants. The migrant will receive support before, during and after their travels, plus support tailored to the individual's specific needs.
Repatriation
If you have a valid resident permit in Norway, but wish to return to your home country, you can apply for economic support from Norwegian authorities. IOM will organize/book your tickets on behalf of the UDI.
Family Reunification
Through our worldwide network of Missions in more than 100 countries, we assist in uniting families. We provide logistical assistance to family members who have received permission to join their relatives in Norway.
